NEVADA CHECK UP

Nevada Check Up is a state health insurance program that provides comprehensive healthcare coverage to low-income Nevada children who are not covered by private insurance or Medicaid, and who meet other eligibility requirements. Benefits include well-baby/well-child visits, prescription drugs, mental health benefits, immunizations, and dental and vision services.

The only cost to the Nevada Check Up enrollee is a quarterly premium. Enrollees are not required to pay co-payments, deductibles, or other charges for covered services. Premiums are determined by family size and income.

  • Premiums are $25, $50, or $80 and are charged per family, not per child.

  • Premiums are billed quarterly and are due every January 1, April 1, July 1, and October 1.

ACCESS TO HEALTH CARE NETWORK

The mission of Access to Healthcare Network is to increase access to primary and specialty health care for the uninsured working poor in Nevada. Uninsured Nevada residents who do not qualify for Medicaid, Nevada Check Up, or employer-sponsored insurance can apply to be members of the network, which offers access to healthcare services at greatly reduced rates.

To be eligible for Nevada Medicaid, you must be a resident of the state of Nevada, a U.S. national, citizen, permanent resident, or legal alien, in need of health care/insurance assistance, whose financial situation would be characterized as low income or very low income. You must also be one of the following:

  • Pregnant, or

  • Be responsible for a child 18 years of age or younger, or

  • Blind, or

  • Have a disability or a family member in your household with a disability, or

  • Be 65 years of age or older.

MEDICAID

Nevada Medicaid provides health coverage to pregnant women and children living under the federal poverty level who meet all of the program’s eligibility requirements, including citizenship. Medicaid covers hospital and doctor’s visits, prenatal care, emergency room visits, drugs, and other treatments for women and children.

AHN's extensive network of fine local doctors, hospitals and other healthcare providers across Nevada offers access to healthcare services at greatly reduced rates to AHN members. Members pay AHN a low-cost membership fee. Members pay each provider the discounted fee at the time of their appointment or service. AHN is not health insurance and therefore does not pay the provider for the member’s healthcare services, the member does.
